7 mistakes to avoid on the internet for entrepreneurs
Today I would like to talk to you about the 7 recurring mistakes that I have noticed on the web, some I did in the past😅 . As a Web entrepreneur, it is essential to master certain communication tools and to have a strategic digital presence on the Internet. I broke down 7 mistakes to avoid on the Internet for digital entrepreneurs:
1. Clean up your digital presence
Make sure there are no compromising images or text that could damage your image on the internet. Don’t hesitate to check your old blog and social networks. Delete them or hide them from the public if necessary. You can always type your name into a search engine to see what comes up.
2. Be easy to find on the net
Your potential customers should be able to find you quickly. Your website or social networks should be easy to remember. Over time you will become a reference in your field but continue to pay close attention to this. Try to keep the same name or nickname on all your platforms, titles and to harmonize your profile pictures for example.
3. Define your clientele
You need to know your audience, it is important to determine your persona, try to imagine their day, their values, what are they sensitive to? Once you have defined this, make sure that you are a source of inspiration for your community and that they can identify with you or your brand.
4. Use your social networks as a showcase for your business
Social networks are a way to interact and stay close to your target. You can see what they are interested in or what might make them unhappy. Every positive and especially negative feedback is gold. It allows you to constantly improve your offer or your product. It would be a big mistake not to have a presence on networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or even TikTok.
5. Carefully craft your message and don’t use technical language.
It is important that your messages are neat and vulgarized or adapted to your audience. Avoid mistakes and have them proofread if necessary if you write in a language in which you are not bilingual. On the other hand, try not to use too technical language if you feel that it does not add value. Often your persona wants to know how your service or product will solve their problem, not necessarily all the technical details.
6. Not doing SEO on your site
SEO and SEM allow you to have a better communication and to be more visible to your target on the Internet. A good digital strategy will also allow you to attract more potential customers to your website. You can also check this article on the subject.
7. Getting lost on the web
It happens to all of us, to realize 30 minutes after opening a Web page that we have strayed from our original task. A little advice to avoid getting lost in your time-consuming and counter-productive browsing: plan specific time slots. If you have trouble concentrating, schedule yourself 30 minutes to 1 hour maximum and take a little break between each one. It may sound crazy but you’ll see that it can really increase your productivity. Test this out and let me know how you like this advice.
