Season 2, Episode 29 - Mégane Visette, Dan Ouimet & Mohammed Ashour - G20 2020 Summit - Géraldine Jippé ... ...

For episode 29 of the second season, I have a very special episode with 3 of the key organizers behind the 2020 G20 YEA, of which I am a proud Canadian delegate. So without further ado, please welcome Mégane Visette, Dan Ouimet and Mohammed Ashour. I hope you enjoy the episode as much as I did recording it!

About Mohammed

Mohammed Ashour is the Sustainability & Social Investment Advisor, with over 9 years of experience working with different organizations in promoting social investment and youth empowerment.

With a background in Engineering, Mohammed manages to add thought leadership and critical analysis and problem solving mechanisms into his line of work, which allowed him to successfully lead project implementation and project management for several organizations in the kingdom. He engages regularly with clients to deliver continuous advisory and social studies in addition to stakeholder engagement and social impact.

Mohammed have also been a member of several local non-profit entities and organizations, Such as King Salman Youth Center youth committee, Alghad youth Organization, Sawaed Atheeb, and many other charity and patients’ support groups such as Elfahdah where he helps as an admin member and structured the strategy of the group.

In addition to that,, Mohammed has a background in technical solutions as he  led Alfaisal Innovation club and represented his college of Engineering at various national and international conferences, which adds a knowledge in vastly growing field that enables our team to have a unique perspective and approach in developing our clients with great services.

About Mégane

Mégane Visette is the Bilingual Government relations specialist at Futurpreneur Canada. As the G20 YEA Canadian Sherpa, she’s responsible for the recruitment and representation of the Canadian delegation at the 2020 Summit and leading G20-related activities. She is also acting as the G20 YEA Marketing Committee Chair on behalf of Canada, and as such oversees communications and promotion of the alliance while leading the G20 YEA Communications team. Her interest for global advocacy in youth entrepreneurship stems from experience in international relations and global policy, including for organizations such as the Council of Ministers of Education, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto, HanVoice Support Association, and the NATO Association of Canada.

About Dan

Daniel Ouimet is the Senior Vice President of External Engagement at Futurpreneur Canada.

He leads the Corporate and Public Affairs team, working closely with the entire Futurpreneur team to build their corporate, government and individual fundraising, as well as donor and public relations. Dan also manages the operations of the Futurpreneur Foundation, a charitable foundation created by Futurpreneur Canada with a focus on entrepreneurial education and skills training.

Immediately prior to joining Futurpreneur, Dan served as the Chief of Staff for Ontario’s Minister of Research, Innovation and Science, where he led the Minister’s team in achieving the Minister’s and the government’s priorities. Dan’s professional experience includes more than 20 years in public affairs in both senior corporate affairs and government roles, directly advising senior federal and provincial cabinet Ministers and senior corporate leaders.

Dan is a Masters of Business Administration graduate of Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and York University’s Schulich School of Business. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Psychology from the University of Calgary.

His professional experience has been complemented by a lifelong participation in sport. Having competed as a varsity athlete he remains active both organizing sporting events and as an endurance runner and Ironman triathlete. Dan has also served as an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Calgary Marathon Society from 2007 to 2019, including more than eight years in the role of President and Chair of the Board.
