Hey there, for episode #15 of the second season, it’s a solo show where I give the lowdown on my top 5 things to consider when building your online business.
October is here. Time flies, it’s fall season and we can already feel that we are heading towards the winter. I guess you already know that winter can be quite something, especially if you are living here in Quebec. And frankly, I am looking forward to this very cold season and the magic of the snow.
Well well well, today I wanted to talk about 5 top things that you should have in mind whenever you are building a business online.
Whether you are still at your 9-to-5, at school or maybe have already some side hustle going.
You might ask yourself where do I start first to set the foundation for my business?
Should you go with a traditional business plan? Which is a fairly classic approach. A business plan is great whenever you are looking for partners, public or private investors or even family investors.
You might have asked yourself if a business Canva would be the right tool for you to draw the foundation of your venture? If you’re more of an artistic or reflective soul, should you create a vision board first to set your future intentions.
I mean if you were like me you might ask yourself what are the tons of possibilities to start a successful business and bring value to your ideal customer.
What is the key ingredient to your recipe for success and for you to start risk-free.
There’s no such thing as a hustle-free business.
Let’s be honest, starting a new venture comes with a heavy load of responsibilities, sometimes hurdles, especially if you have some commitments such as a family to take care of. You need to be smart and make sure to fund your business without jeopardizing your lifestyle and perhaps household.
Is it easy? Of course it’s not. Otherwise everyone would be starting one.
Regardless of this important challenge, you can make sense of this and make sure to prioritize the right way for all the decisions that will bring you success, value and the results you deserve.
Just for the anecdote, I started as a freelancer, and I serve now as an Entrepreneur-Consultant for various size businesses and finding the right client, asking for the right price wasn’t not the easiest thing to go.
You might wonder how much you should charge and if you should charge xyz amount. You know it’s not about the money, but about the value, make sure to assess your value and the added-value you want to bring to your potential cliente. When you’ll design your price strategy, make sure it does cover your bases.
I remember the struggle to make ends meet when I was beginning back then. I had it all wrong, I didn’t understand clearly the notion of value. That is a key essential for your growth. Especially as a beginner. We all faced at some point in time, the imposter syndrome, which was detrimental to my humble beginning, but I had to learn. And there’s nothing wrong about that.
I learnt a lottttttt. Back then, I was wondering how to establish myself, how to position myself, and market myself as my own product to help others to manage their online services, products, ecommerce online course. If branding for some isn’t essential, I can honestly say that it served me well to work on my branding to state my positioning on the market, set myself as a leader in my field and get some recognition from my customer. I would tell you this, try to position yourself as an expert, as a leader in your field, that will build you the credibility you need to grow.
In my mind, the ideal business model to grow with success was a recurring question to obsess over. I bet you have millions of questions running through your brain every single second.
Here’s five things you need to know, when starting your new venture, organization or small business.
Number 1
Find your passion, I mean if you are already here listening to this you know you already have an idea of what’s your favourite thing in the world and you’d like to spend your day working on something that would change and transform your life.
If you don’t, that’s fine, take your time and design your vision board. Let your mind run free on your board with amazing dreams.
Number 2
Get your team onboard, your team can be made of your favourite supporters – like I usually say, your cheerleaders, your loved ones, family and friends or a team of collaborators if you are ready to take the leap. You need to know that they have your back that’s important because you can’t do this alone.
I mean you can but it’s harder and you know you want to make your new project as easy and as enjoyable possible because there will be some small and big waves along the way, which is normal.
Number 3
Building a business is never ever easy but you can do this if you decide to put your mind to it. You’ll find the energy to do what it takes to get the results you need and the income you want for yourself and your business. Exercice daily mantras, this will help you stay focused despite all bumps you might encounter on the road to success.
Number 4
I realize that most of us have been conditioned with certain ideas and definitions of what success looks like and means.
Unleash your super power because you’ll have to work on yourself and your mindset to rebuild some preconceived ideas you grew up with regarding what you can do, how you should do it and your relationship to money. Yesss. Take sometimes to educate yourself.
Number 5
Creating a business is a roller coaster and not as glamorous as people say. Hang tight, you’ll get there, make sure to be patient with yourself.
Don’t be too harsh on yourself, be kind, authentic and true to yourself. Embrace the entrepreneurship journey.
That’s it that’s all for today. Bye now.
